The casually-elegant restaurant, located just off of the AAA Four-Diamond resort’s beautifully-remodeled lobby, is offering a special three-course prix fixe dinner throughout October, as part of the Historic Coast’s “Flavors of Florida’s Historic Coast” promotion. Organized by the St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra & The Beaches Visitors & Convention Bureau, the month-long “Flavors of Florida’s Historic Coast” promotion consists of 18 participating area restaurants which are each presenting a prix fixe three-course meal featuring signature dishes with heritage-inspired flavors.
Specializing in New American Regional Cuisine that uses the freshest ingredients in the region, 500 South will offer a three-course prix fixe dinner consisting of: the choice of the 500 South Salad, Caesar Salad, or The Daily Soup; the choice of a 10-ounce Grilled New York Strip Steak, Mediterranean Salmon, or Grilled Chicken Carbonara; and the choice of Classic “New York” Style Cheese Cake, or Chocolate Lava Cake. Available throughout October 2011 during dinner hours (5-10 p.m.), the three-course meal is $29.95.
Boasting striking architecture, chic hardwood floors, a picturesque full-length wine wall, colorful accents, warm wood tones, and dramatic lighting, 500 South is under the direction of Restaurant Chef Alberto Avila, who is known for his creativity, flare, and exceptional cuisine.
“The special prix fixe dinner offers three of 500 South’s most popular dishes, paired with a salad or soup, and a delicious dessert,” said Avila. “The special menu is a great way to experience 500 South, at a very nice price.”
Adjacent to the restaurant is the 500 South Lounge, which boasts an impressive 50-inch television as the centerpiece, as well as beautiful hardwood floors, colorful carpeting, furniture in vibrant reds and oranges, several additional flat-screen televisions, and many conversational seating areas.
Open to the public, the 500 South Restaurant is open nightly for dinner from 5 p.m.-10 p.m., with a diverse menu, comprehensive cocktail list, and extensive wine list with offerings from Chile, Spain, South Africa and Italy. The restaurant is also open for breakfast from 6:30 – 11:30 a.m. Monday-Friday, and from 7 a.m.-noon on Saturday and Sunday. In addition, the restaurant is open for lunch from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. daily.
