The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village Now Offering "Golfers Getaway Package"

ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (December 2006) – The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village, located next to the impressive World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, Florida, is now offering a great “Golfers Getaway Package.” Available through April 14, 2007, the package includes accommodations for three nights, a round of golf-for-two on both of the resort’s championship courses (King & Bear and Slammer & Squire), a one-hour lesson-for-two at the PGA TOUR Golf Academy, two tickets to the World Golf Hall of Fame, and two tickets to play the Hall of Fame’s real grass 18-hole championship putting course. In addition, the package includes two tickets to try the 132-yard Challenge Hole, surrounded by water and modeled after the celebrated 17th Hole of the Stadium Course at Tournament Players Club at Sawgrass.

Based on double occupancy, the rate for the package:  from January 1-February 10, 2007, is from $643; from February 11-28, 2007, is from $776; from March 1-31, 2007, is from $802; and from April 1-14, 2007, is from $776. There may be a surcharge on holidays or weekends.

Slammer & Squire is named for legendary Hall of Famers “Slammin” Sam Snead and Gene “The Squire” Sarazen. They partnered with architect Bobby Weed to create this impressive par 72 tree-lined course which features gentle rolling fairways and challenging lakes. The 6,939-yard course is distinguished by memorable par 3’s, and for its preservation of the woodlands, wetlands and natural beauty of St. Augustine.

Both courses feature such on-course amenities as chilled apples on the first and tenth holes, complimentary range balls, and Global Positioning System (GPS) in every cart.

Guests of The Renaissance also have access to PGA TOUR Golf Academy, which offers of full schedule of golf schools and private lessons, and features expansive practice facilities, including a 2,700-square-foot learning center with all-weather hitting bays and multiple covered tee areas. Programs utilize the game’s modern learning tools, including several state-of-the-art video analysis systems.
