The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village Captures Prestigious "Gold Tee Award"

ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (July 2005) – Meetings & Conventions magazine recently announced The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village has won the prestigious “Gold Tee Award” for 2005. The award was presented to Terry Crawford, general manager of the 300-room resort.

The highly respected award is given annually to the world's finest golf resort properties. Winners of the Gold Tee Award were nominated and selected by the readers of the magazine based on the overall experience, including overall staff attitude, quality of guest service, range of recreation facilities, quality of the guest rooms and meeting facilities, proficiency of handling reservations, and availability of technical/support equipment.

For the year 2005, only 60 domestic and eight offshore/international golf properties earned enough votes to win the Gold Tee Award.

“The meeting industry's most important and distinctive critics have made their selection for the best worldwide. M&C's core readership, of over 70,000 corporate, incentive and association meeting planners, know quality when they experience it and again have made their votes count, selecting the golf properties they believed to be outstanding,” said Bernard W. Schraer, Meetings & Conventions Group Publisher. “Our entire staff salutes the 68 properties worldwide that have distinguished themselves in this industry and earned the Gold Tee honor.”

All winning golf properties will be highlighted in Meetings & Conventions' special Golf Guide issue published in July. Recognition isn't new for The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village, as it also recently was named one of the “75 Best Golf Resorts in North America” by Golf Digest magazine.

“We're very honored to receive the prestigious Gold Tee Award,” said Crawford. “Winning such an important honor shows our dedication to providing excellent guest service, facilities and recreational offerings to all of our valued groups.”
