ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (October 2007) – Popular ‘60s band The Swingin' Medallions will return to Northeast Florida to again perform at the big New Year's Eve bash at The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village in St. Augustine. Famous for such classics as the million-selling "Double Shot (of My Baby's Love)" and "Hey, Hey, Baby", The Swingin' Medallions are known for their impressive stage shows, and are often called "The Party Band of the South." The "Swingin' The New Year 2008" festivities will be on Monday, December 31, 2007 in the resort's St. Augustine Ballroom from 6:30 p.m.-2 a.m.
"The Swingin' Medallions put on a great show the last three years, and the parties were such huge successes, so we're thrilled they'll be the entertainment again this year," said Renaissance Resort General Manager Mark Schwantner. "Everyone had a great time last year, and I'm sure this year will be even better."
The Renaissance Resort is offering several New Year's Eve packages. "The Party Package" is $130 per person (plus tax), and it includes admission to the party, a four-course buffet dinner, an open bar throughout the evening, champagne toast at midnight, party favors, a huge balloon drop, and a "Resolution Breakfast" after midnight.
The "Take The Elevator Home Package" includes all of the above, plus deluxe accommodations for the night of New Year's Eve. This package is $220 per person (plus tax), based on double occupancy.

The Swingin' Medallions are sure to put on another fun show. "Double Shot (of My Baby's Love)" has been a party classic for college students for decades. "She Drives Me Out of My Mind" was a top 40 hit for the band, as was "Hey, Hey, Baby", which later was prominently featured in the movie "Dirty Dancing." The music most often associated with the 8-piece band is beach music, frat rock, R&B, or shaggin' music, which will make for a very festive New Year's Eve party.
Set in the heart of the beautifully landscaped 6,300-acre World Golf Village, the 10-story resort boasts a wealth of recreational options that appeal to golfers and non-golfers alike.
